Encouraging generations of kids to develop a lifelong love of reading – for us, few projects could be more worthwhile. Keen to consolidate their position as the most popular reading programme in UK schools, OUP’s Oxford Reading Tree tasked Together Design with refreshing their brand, and they asked us to take care of the words. We already knew and loved the programme from our own kids, so were able to hit the ground running.
In fact, that insight informed the strapline we wrote for them, which captured the reading programme’s unique status amongst UK schools: ‘tried and tested, loved and trusted’. Putting more key messages in place, we then communicated the updated brand language through a series of print pieces, which involved the enjoyable task of putting words in the mouths of their famous characters Biff, Chip, Kipper and Floppy.
